How to order

Every facility mailroom runs on one rule: the book must arrive as a new, publisher-direct shipment. Pick the route that works for you.

Route 1

AMAZON

Order the paperback on Amazon and have it shipped directly to the facility in the inmate’s name — publisher/retailer shipments are the ones mailrooms accept.

Route 2

BARNES & NOBLE

Order the paperback from Barnes & Noble using the same direct-ship approach: ship the new book straight to the facility in the inmate’s name — never to yourself first.

Route 3

PUBLISHER-DIRECT

Email crudusvita@gmail.com with the inmate’s full name, ID number, and facility address, and Crudus Vita Corporation will arrange a publisher-direct shipment.

Read before you order

The rules that keep a book from being rejected

New softcover (paperback) only — no hardcovers, no used copies.
It must ship directly from the publisher, a bookstore, or an approved retailer — books handed in or mailed by individuals are refused.
Package shows the publisher’s return address: Crudus Vita Corporation.
Florida facilities: shipments must arrive by USPS and come directly from the publisher — we handle that.
Texas (TDCJ): starting November 15, 2026, the sender must verify with ID.me and log the book (title, author, vendor, date sent) in the TDCJ Book Portal before it can be delivered.
Federal (BOP): hardcovers are only accepted from a publisher, book club, or bookstore; paperbacks from a publisher or bookstore are accepted at most security levels.
No inserts, stickers, or extra items in the package — just the book.
Every facility has its own mail rules and book limits — check the facility’s current rules before ordering.
